We move between freedom and restriction, willingness and rebellion. We choose to switch between instinct and information. We drift, we flow, we cut between physical qualities and psychological states that co-exist, belonging to each other, yet simultaneously striving to maintain their identity.
We bring structure to improvisation and invite freedom to invade what is set. We dissociate, we black out, we remain present. states of tension: transforming the narrative of movement, language, and performance.
This workshop will focus on finding freedom within restriction and transforming the narratives that we build, both in performance and personally.
Cree finds her love for dance in the spaces in between the contradictions of a problematic industry. She finds joy in facilitating and holding space for challenging and judgment free movement exploration and discussion, through thoughtfully guided workshops and curated talks.
