The Alleyne Dance Intensive Workshop is a dynamic, powerful, and emotionally enriching five-day experience. Participants will immerse themselves in strong, intricate, and technically demanding sequences, balanced with improvisational exploration to enhance performance quality, stamina, and musicality.
Through a physically challenging program, dancers will work directly with the company’s repertoire, mastering its complex and precise vocabulary before deepening their understanding in creative sessions. The Intensive develops both technical and interpretive skills while cultivating the ability to inhabit movement with emotional truth. Participants will explore conscious, authentic motion and discover how emotional intention can shape and propel choreography.
Designed for dancers aiming to refine their personal style, prepare for auditions, or expand their creative range, this workshop also offers inspiration for choreographers exploring new methods and teachers seeking fresh material.
Alleyne Dance is internationally recognised for its physically charged, rhythmically complex, and emotionally raw choreography. Blending contemporary dance, African influences, martial arts, and theatrical storytelling, the company’s work is both precise and explosive — rooted in strength and musicality, yet alive with spontaneity and vulnerability.
Sadé Alleyne’s artistic path began in athletics with Enfield and Haringey before moving into dance with the Hip Hop companies Boy Blue Entertainment and Dance2Xess. In 2012, she joined the Akram Khan Company during the Vertical Road tour, performing at the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony and later in iTMOi (In the Mind of Igor) in 2013.
