A contemporary dance workshop by Victor Rottier
SLAM! is a high-energy, movement-based workshop shaped by the personal experience in contemporary dance of Victor Rottier. His background spans classical, contemporary, hip hop, and musical-style training. Instead of
separating these influences, he brings them together in one layered way of moving.
It’s not only about mixing vocabularies, but about letting tools from different styles inform and challenge one another.
This workshop is rooted in physical practice. We learn through doing. I offer clear tasks that are both physically and mentally demanding. Dancers are invited to look closely at how they move. How does technique shift when rhythm changes? What happens when we apply ideas from one style to another?
These are some of the questions we’ll work with.
SLAM! is built for dancers with a technical base.
It’s especially suited for young and experienced
professionals, no matter what style they come from.
