Karma Dance CIC are looking for 2 dancers to embark on their project, “MIND THE DANCE”. Drawing on the recent “MIND THE DANCE” research & development, we are now moving into a pilot period for the work.

Project Details:
“MIND THE DANCE” is an ambitious collaborative project by choreographer Zoobin Surty working with five dancers, combining western contemporary dance expertise with traditional Indian dance to create 2 cross-cultural, cutting edge dance pieces exploring the themes of Individuality, multiculturalism, and silence.
The selected dancers will take part in 4 weeks of research culminating in a pilot performance. After this phase, Karma Dance CIC will be touring the work and you will be considered for involvement.
What Karma Dance CIC is Looking for:
We are looking for dance artists with strong contemporary and ballet technique. Prior knowledge of Indian classical dance is welcomed but not necessary. Applicants should be open to movement creation, improvisation, teaching and engaging with communities. Must be prepared to work in both solo & group performance contexts and willing to contribute to a collaborative devising process. We are looking for applicants who have an interest in mental health thematics, sexual identity and gender identity.
Please be aware that some scenes involve partial nudity. We prioritize a safe and respectful environment, and individual comfort levels will be respected. We are open to using creative solutions like stickies, hibues, and shibues. No nudity will be required during audition. Interested dancers should be comfortable with partial nudity throughout the production.
